Asa, from Nigeria (and France), is like a mix between Tracy Chapman and Amy Winehouse. When she played at the Africa Day concert at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johannesburg a couple of years ago she completely captivated her audience. She was the last act, quite late at night, and some older men behind me were about to leave when she started playing. Three songs later they were tugging my jersey and kept asking “Who is she, who is she?”
